30 Days Of Truth: {DAY FIVE}

30 Days Of Truth
{Day Four}
Something you hope to do in your life

Gosh...I have so many long-term goals it's crazy. I'm one of those people who just never can make up their mind, but once I do- there's no stopping me. I guess you could say I like to have my fingers in many different pies. But for this one, let's talk about my love for coffee.

I want to open up my own espresso shop. In Austin. Austin, TX...that is.

You know how people say that Austin is just Seattle with twang? I really is. Last year, we went to Austin for a track meet and spent a few hours there. I was able to see it firsthand and yes, I felt like I was back in Seattle but wouldn't get weird looks for saying -y'all-. I've been working as a barista for 3 years now. I just LOVE it. There really isn't any 'out-of-the-house' work I'd rather do. I get paid to make drinks and talk to people. Did you know that as a barista, I have the power to make or break someone's day?! Yea..it's a big responsibility.

 About a year and a half ago, I decided that I enjoy barista-ing so much that I should just open up my own shop. Especially when the one down the street was looking for new ownership. We didn't buy it, but the wheels were turning.

Eventually, after we settle down somewhere, buy a house,  are done having children, and are settled and comfy- I'm going to open up a shop. Maybe an internet cafe. The idea is super catchy. I want to use Caffe D'Arte beans as they are superb! And bonus- I work there now! I don't have any name ideas, but I liked Austin's Beans at one point. You know...bc my kids name is Austin. But oh yea...I'm having more than just one kid so scratch that!

Oh and it'll be one of those places where the baristas thoughts are proudly displayed. For example: We hate when people want to use our bathroom. It's connected to our office and it's more of a hassle than anything else. We have to clean it and with the unsavory element we deal with, it's not pretty. So MY shop will either not have a restroom for customers or I'm hiring someone to come clean it daily. Or I could pay my baristas a little more to clean it. lol Also, signs posted will reflect along these lines:

This is NOT a bank. We don't give change.
No bills over $20. This is a coffee shop for crying out loud.
We don't make caramel macchiatos or blended drinks. There's a starbucks around the corner
Tipping ensures a happy barista. Happy baristas make better drinks. DO IT.
There's no such thing as a regular size. Be specific.
Please don't bother the person behind the bar. They're crafting excellence.
We are NOT your mama! Bus your own tables

Yea...my coffee shop will be the coolest. For sure.
