what i want to say.

happy father's day to my amazing husband.

it's pictures like these that remind me that it all started with us.

in two super short years, we have grown from just two people who fell in love

{as cheesy as it sounds}

to a family of four. 

i've watched you go from a fun, loving guy who'd do anything for his wife,

to a fun, loving guy who'd conquer the world for his children.

most days, you make me shake my head and laugh.

others, you make me want to slam my head into a wall. 

{honesty is hard to hear. lol}

but every time i see austin light up when you come through the door 

or the way that you snuggle bella close and kiss her cheeks,

when you change one of austin's incredible diapers,

{because it's incredible that he produced so much poop}

or you scrunch your body into our too-small bathtub to take a bath with him,

when you get up in the middle of the night so i can get at least an hour of sleep,

or when i catch you playing with austin's toys

or any of the millions of things you do with and for our kids

i can't help but swoon.

so thank you husband for being a great dad
but even more so, for being the daddy to my babies.
{hehe, baby daddy}

dear daddy {or da-da, as i call you.}

you're the bestest.

you do fun things with me like go to the park and teach me how to climb on things.

just like you- i've learned how to fall asleep around the house. anytime. doing anything.

there was this one time, you pointed a gun at me. that wasn't cool dad. but i still love you.

we always have a great time at the park. you push me on the swings and go down the slide with me. 

my favorite place is to be on your shoulders. 

i like taking naps with you too, dad.

you don't like to, but you always share your food with me. 

i really am your biggest fan.

and you're my bestest friend in the whole wide world.

you recently gave me a little sister...

we need to talk about this.

next time, can you ask first?

and as cute as she is..and i love her to death.

i'm glad to know she'll never come between us.

i'm still your number one guy.

thank you for being the father we both never had. thank you for the reassurance that my son will never experience the pain, heartache, and longing that comes with having a father who chooses to leave. 

you are a wonderful father. more than just half of what created him, you are his daddy..his beloved dad. the way he lights up when he's with you makes me heart glow. 

you've loved him since he was just a suggestion that you kept bugging me about. lol. yours was the first voice that called out to him while he grew in my womb. and i can see how attached he is to you.
