the post baby bod.

awhile back, i posted about my old body. the body that i totally didn't think was as hot as it really was. of course, it could always be better, but i'm trying to "love what i have". lol in any case, i'm officially not baking a bean anymore so it's time to start my "whoop that booty back into shape" regimen.

so how can i do it?

i'm not really sure yet. but there are several different things i can try. there's weight watchers [& ww points plus], clean eating, regular ole' diet and exercise....just to name a few. whatever i choose, it has to be lasting and it has to work! i don't want to take pills or supplements because i don't know the affects it would have on my breastmilk and whatnot. and i don't want anything that isn't going to last. i'm looking for a LIFESTYLE CHANGE PEOPLE! lol.  the hubs and i have agreed to stop making babies for awhile so it's a great time to start. hahaha.

so. *cough* i guess it's time to debut the "post baby bod".... please be kind.

gah! back fat.

cool, huh?

so! i need suggestions. i've made this agreement with charlie that he has complete control over my diet once i'm out of the hospital. technically, i'm still here since i'm boarding and feeding bella every few hours. once i'm done staying here, i'm only eating healthy foods.

:/....i'm scared. lol

so i got weighed today, but i was wearing chunky boots. and it seems like i've lost 7lbs so far. i'll weigh myself for real tomorrow for a real weigh-in.

Fitness has no time constraints!

You know what I loved about being a member of a 24hour Fitness? The ability to workout 24 hours a day. No matter what time or how crazy hectic your schedule is, you can manage to find an hour to go to the gym and it was always open! Sometimes I worked out at 3pm, sometimes at 3am. But no matter what, I was able to go whenever I felt like it. You know what I love about having fitness dvds at home? THE SAME THING! Regardless of what time it is, I can pop in that dvd and get to sweating! But wait...there's more! The perk of working out a mi casa is that I don't have to go anywhere! I don't have to pack a bag, throw on a jacket, start the car or walk down the street. I don't have to worry about parking or if my outfit matches [because let's be honest here..I wanted to look GOOD while I worked out]. The biggest hurdle I've overcome...I don't have to talk myself into going. Most times, I'm already in my living room watching tv or dinking around on the interwebz. All I have to do is pop in that dvd, strap on my shoes and maybe change into a better fitting bra [I've found that as a nurse-on-demand mom, it's just easier to forgo the bra altogether.] It's the perfect situation for an excuse maker like myself.

Tonight, I found myself awake at 2:30 am. The previous night had Charlie and I doing everything we could think of to get our little one to sleep, but he just wasn't having it. Finally around 4am, he dozed off. I ended up having a severe allergy attack over night [probably brought on from wearing next to nothing while the pollen danced around my nasal passages during our late night drive] and felt like poo from lack of sleep and allergy symptoms, so I ended up sleeping in until 11am and then dozing off in random spots around the house until 3pm. So of course I'm still awake. I slept most of the day away. After getting Austin back to sleep for the second time, I decided to lay on the couch so as not to disturb him anymore.

Wouldn't you know it? The INSANITY infomercial comes on. Talk about feeling guilty. I'm watching these people on the screen and feeling bad because instead of doing the workout everyday for 60 days straight like I'm supposed to, I'm doing each workout with 3-4days in between. Thus delaying my 'after' photo and results for probably 3 months or so. I started to remember how excited I was about getting the dvds in the first place and decided right then and there that I wasn't going to just go to sleep...I was gonna get INSANE! I laced up my shoes and put on my comfy bra and got to work! Of course, I had to break twice to go nurse the babe back to slumberland, but once he was golden..I took off on the insane train!

It's so easy to have excuses as to why we don't do things. I don't want to be THAT girl. You know the one. Making excuses every time I fail to follow through. And I feel guilty every day that I don't have a blog update about exercise. I have only a few readers, but I feel as if I have to live up to the standards I set for myself. How can anyone believe me if I don't have follow through? How can I believe myself, for that matter? I want to be more committed to getting where I want to be. I want to feel the burn in my muscles and joints and know that I'm doing something amazing for myself. It's so easy to sit back and eat a bag of chips and decide that I've had a rough day and therefore I will not have the energy to workout. Even if it's just a portion of the dvd, I want to get up and do it everyday...no matter what time of day it is!

But can I just say...the burning and cracking I heard and felt in my knee is KILLER. I think it's time to really look into getting something done to fix that issue. So here's to being committed, friends. DIG DEEP.
